RGBdog presents: Volumetric Interviews
RGBdog presents: Volumetric Interviews (2021-2023) introduces creatives working at the intersection of music, visual arts and technology who build healthy communities with innovative uses of technology. Developed in collaboration with the community-based design studio RGBdog led by Soyun Park, the series raises awareness of the creative possibilities of technology and invites audiences to join the ongoing broader debate about its benefits and pitfalls.
As the project manager and fundraiser of RGBdog presents: Volumetric Interviews, I spearheaded efforts to secure financial support, oversaw the day-to-day management of the project, coordinated activities between Krea and RGBdog’s teams, and provided guidance and support to team members, by delegating tasks and ensuring everyone is aligned with project goals and deadlines.
RGBdog presents: Volumetric Interviews resorts to a combination of traditional filmmaking and volumetric image-capturing techniques to push the boundaries of photography, design, and autonomous arts. Its original visual language and structure invite the audience to the virtual world where the story takes place, offering an immersive experience of the inspiring stories told by the interviewees.
The first episode of the series, Music for Community - Thorwald from bitbird, explored how a music label can be shaped as a creative company with Thorwald van den Akker, the creative director of bitbird. Bringing the cosy vibes, RGBdog presents: Volumetric Interviews visited the interviewee’s home and met his family, shooting the episode against the backdrop of childhood memorabilia.
For its second episode, Together, Decentralised - Hackers and Designers, Soyun hosted Loes Bogers and Juliette Lizotte from Hackers & Designers. The Amsterdam-based collective aims to bring the disciplines of hacking and design closer to each other to develop a common vocabulary and collective design concepts.
The third episode Click, Play, Participate - Studio Moniker introduced Roel Wouters and Luna Maurer, the directors of Studio Moniker. It delved into shared digital solidarity, the uses of hacking, and activist and critical design through Studio Moniker’s works, exploring different ways of playful representation to visually explore their original works.
